The history of this city on the Belaya River did not begin easily. The governor of the Nogai Horde in such a beautiful place built himself a residence and a fortress around. And only in 1557, when the territories of modern Bashkiria were ceded to the Russian Empire, peaceful Russian people began to settle around the fortress. Their descendants and guests today absolutely calmly go for walks in Ufa, the ancient and modern capital of Bashkortostan.

Walks in the capital of Bashkiria

Acquaintance with the city for many tourists begins with the monument to Salavat Yulaev, the national hero of Bashkiria, which every inhabitant of both the capital and the entire republic is proud of. True, this does not prevent adults from making fun of the author of the monumental composition, who, with special care, observing all the anatomical details, made a sculpture of a horse (not a horse!), The main character is sitting on it.

The route from the monument to Salavat continues directly through the city. Following the advice of the guide or guided by the map, tourists go to see the magnificent masterpiece of Bashkir architecture, which now houses the Opera and Ballet Theater. The city remembers the gorgeous concerts that the world-class opera singer Fyodor Chaliapin and the unsurpassed ballet dancer Rudolf Nuriev gave in their time in Ufa.

The famous Russian writer, author of unique literary descriptions of nature, Sergei Aksakov, lived in Ufa. The Memorial House of the Creator is also included in various tourist routes. Tourists on their own try to find the famous Aksakov's "Scarlet Flower" in the vicinity, dreaming of their piece of happiness.

Travel to iconic places

The city has numerous places of worship belonging to various denominations. It doesn't matter that many of them are examples of contemporary architectural art. Tourists are attracted by the external and internal design of the highest level, in the list of masterpieces of sacred art:

  • Lyalya-Tulpan, a mosque with an unusual architectural solution, but recognizable by two minarets stylized as buds;
  • The Cathedral, a sky-blue multi-tiered building;
  • Intercession Church, built on the site of the oldest Orthodox church in Ufa.

Not only religious buildings attract the attention of tourists, guests also adore the green areas of the Bashkir capital - parks, squares and boulevards. Victory Park is located on the river, with magnificent views of the city open from the high bank, it is here that it is good to take a photo in memory of visiting Ufa.
