Description of the attraction

Mount Cimone is located in the northern Apennines in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. The height of the mountain is 2165 meters. On its slopes there are several communes - Fiumalbo, Sestola, Fanano and Riolunato, which belong to the province of Modena. There are military installations in the vicinity of the mountain, so during the Cold War, access to the top was prohibited.

Today, Mount Cimone is a popular ski resort, which can be reached both from Modena and from Bologna, since distances in Italy are most often measured in tens, not hundreds of kilometers. There are 31 ski tracks with a total length of more than 50 km. The longest track stretches for 3.6 km. There are 26 ski lifts serving the slopes.

The ski season begins in December, and sometimes even at the end of November, and lasts until mid-April. The resort consists of six centers - Passo del Lupo, Polle, Cimoncino, Lago Ninfa, Montecreto and Pian del Falco, which are connected by trails and lifts.

Among the most popular ski runs are the red Nord Funivia 1.9 km long, the black Diretissima 1.7 km long, and the red and black Sette Fontane and Delle Aquile, both 2.7 km long.

In addition to ski lovers, snowboarding fans also come to Monte Cimone - for them a huge snow park with a half-pipe 85 meters long, two jumps, three "loops", C-boxes, kink rails, etc. has been built for them on the territory of Passo del Lupo. Two smaller snow parks are located in Lago Ninfa and Polle.

For vacationers, there are also various restaurants, discos, a small theater, gyms, play areas for children, mini golf courses and excursions in the vicinity of Chimone.
