Description of the attraction

A unique and amazing journey can be made by climbing a cable car to one of the peaks of the Crimean mountains - Mount Ai-Petri.

The cable car "Miskhor - Ai-Petri" is a means of communication between the resort village of Miskhor and the plateau of mountains. The road is used not only by locals and vacationers, but also by tourists, visitors from other Crimean resort areas.

The construction of the cable car was started in 1967 and lasted for 20 years. And only on December 31, 1987 the admissions committee became its first passengers. The road has its own autonomous power plant. The road is serviced by a staff of 120 people.

The cable car "Miskhor-Ai-Petri", 2980 m long from Miskhor to the teeth of Mount Ai-Petri, connected three stations: the lower station - Miskhor, which is 86 m above sea level, the middle one - Sosnovy Bor, located at an altitude of 391 m above sea level and the upper one - the Ai-Petri plateau, its height is 1152 m.

The upper section is the longest unsupported section in Europe. Its length is 1670 m, the angle of ascent near the mountains is 46 degrees. From a bird's eye view, a magnificent panorama opens from Gurzuf to Foros. For fifteen minutes of ascent, you can enjoy the whole variety of representatives of the Yalta mountain-forest nature reserve.

The cable car operates all year round and meets all the necessary safety standards. The working objects are four cabins, each of which can accommodate 35 people. The distance from Miskhor to the mountain plateau is covered by cable car in 20 minutes. On the Ai-Petri plateau, each vacationer is invited to explore the Three-Glazed Cave and the observation deck, from where a magnificent view opens up to almost the entire Crimea peninsula, with its variegated forests and groves, sky-blue water surface, crowded beaches and towering powerful mountains.

In the winter season, when roads are snowing, this cable car serves as the only means of communication with the Ai-Petrinsky plateau.
