Description of the attraction

Bali Zoo is located in Gianyar County, in the village of Singaporeadu. The zoo is very easy to get to, as it is located near the city of Denpasar, the capital of Bali. In addition, the zoo can be accessed from other popular tourist destinations such as Ubud, Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur.

The zoo, which is the first and only one in Bali, is home to over 350 animal species. The construction of the zoo began in 1996 and lasted 6 years. The zoo was opened in 2002, the area of the zoo is 22 acres. The zoo is a private property, belongs to Mr. Anak Agung Gde Putra, who built this zoo on his own and at his own expense. The zoo serves about 170 people, who also conduct excursions.

In addition to exotic animals, the zoo is home to rare native animal species such as the Sumatran elephant, Sumatran tiger, Malay bear and Binturong. It is worth noting that the Sumatran tiger is the smallest of all the tiger subspecies. There is also a white tiger, cassowaries (the only genus of large flightless birds) and a frightening-looking monitor lizard from Komodo Island. In the zoo, under the guidance of the staff, you can feed the animals, hold them in your hands, play with them and take pictures. You can also ride elephants around the zoo.

There are several restaurants and cafes on the territory of the zoo where you can have a snack and enjoy the surrounding nature. The zoo also has evening programs, when visitors can take pictures with pythons, crocodiles and binturongs, see a fire show. For outdoor enthusiasts, there is an opportunity to climb trees and go through an obstacle course.
