The program of even a one-day stay in Nha Trang can be very rich and interesting. It all depends on which direction the guest chooses to get to know the city, what kind of transport he prefers, whether he will explore the resort on his own or use the services of a local guide.

Many of the guides speak English, there are also Russian-speaking guides who are sensitive to the trend of the tourism business, the increase in the number of guests from Eastern Europe. Of the main historical and cult attractions, tourist avenues recommend visiting the following sites:

  • mysterious towers, erected in the era of Cham, dating back to the 7th-12th centuries;
  • an even older structure - Long Son Pagoda (built in 193);
  • a giant Buddha statue carved out of stone and perched on a lotus flower next to Long Son Pagoda.

A trip around the city together with a specialist will make the excursion rich, informative, rich in facts, interesting legends and myths.

Museums or nature

The second interesting direction for a tourist is a trip to the museums of Nha Trang. The resort has several institutions that are the custodians of unique artifacts associated with the history of this area, the ancient civilizations that lived here.

Since the city is located by the sea, it was difficult to imagine it without the National Oceanographic Museum. Its expositions introduce the wonderful world of local aquatic flora and fauna. A trip to this museum will interest both adults and young tourists.

For the same children, however, and for their parents too, traveling around the outskirts of Nha Trang to explore the local natural attractions can be exciting. The following geographical objects are on the leaderboard by the number of visits:

  • Yangbai waterfalls, located just 40 kilometers from the resort;
  • Magic source;
  • Thap Ba mud baths, where acquaintance with the unique area can be complemented by wellness treatments.

Acquaintance with the ancient culture of Vietnam

A visit to the holy land of Michonne is another question to answer what to visit in Nha Trang on your own. From the 7th to the 17th centuries, the central territories of modern Vietnam were occupied by the state of Champa (Champa), and Michon was its main spiritual center.

In total, about 70 different religious buildings were erected, only a third of them have survived to this day, and, as historians say, in varying degrees of destruction. Even in this form, the monumental towers, standing on square or rectangular bases, cause only admiration among the visitors of the complex.

Closer acquaintance with the objects of the complex, you can see that the builders used sandstone and brick for buildings, and drew inspiration from the ancient culture of India. The main gods of Hinduism, Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, are depicted in various poses and situations on ancient Vietnamese towers.

Meeting of Europe and Asia

A small surprise awaits tourists from Europe in Nha Trang - the so-called Bao Dai Villas, built in 1923. Moreover, in this complex, which is actually considered a museum, you can stay overnight, since there is a hotel on the territory for those tourists who wanted to stay here longer. The construction of the villas was carried out by the Frenchman A. Krem, and the arrangement of landscapes and gardens was carried out by local specialists. The result is a unique cultural object that harmoniously combines the lightness of the French style of architecture and the garden art of the countries of the southeastern region.

Previously, the villas housed emperors and high dignitaries of the state, each of the buildings had its own beautiful name. Today the complex is known under the general toponym - "Bao Dai Villas", and the main purpose is to receive guests of the resort. In memory of the Vietnamese emperors, a small museum has been established on site. It contains personal belongings of members of the imperial family, clothing, religious items, works of national art.
